Reproduction Wood Windows and Sash
Weston Millwork Company has been building historic reproduction sash for over 20 years. Unlike most millwork companies, WMCO specializes in exact matches of your original sash. This means that if only one sash needs to be replaced, there is no need to replace the entire window.
WMCO makes Wood Double Hung Sash, Casement Sash, Gothic Head, Circle Head Windows, Marginal Light Sash, Window Frames, Box Frames and Plank Frames. We make plain-rail, check-rail, and casement sash. Single or divided light. Any sash bar width. Many sticking profiles are available, as is the capability of producing custom sticking profiles. Any sash thickness is possible. Standard thicknesses are 1-1/8", 1-3/8", and 1-3/4". All sash are make of solid (NOT finger-jointed) stock with time-tested mortise-and-tenon joinery like the originals. Any other type of joinery is inferior and not acceptable for work that is subject to exposure.
We also make window frames for both masonry and frame buildings. (The frames are not the same, although modern window manufacturers seem to be unaware of this.) Sills are made of thick material and both one and two-piece sills are common.
The joinery and craftsmanship of the original millwork helped it to last a century or more. Original craftsmanship and attention to detail is what makes millwork from WMCO a lasting value.
